This past weekend two CEHL matches were played by the Leuven Chiefs. On Friday, September 27, the match between Mechelen Golden Sharks and Leuven Chiefs took place (final score 6-7) and on Saturday, September 28, the match between Leuven Chiefs and Diez Limburg was played (3-2 OT).
Unfortunately, we have noticed that Leuven Chiefs acted against the CEHL competition regulations during these two matches by fielding more import player than allowed by the rules. Article 10 of the competition regulations contains the relevant provisions. Leuven Chiefs included four players who are considered as import players under the regulations:
-
Jeremy Cote
-
Erik Miller
-
Tommy Lubin
-
Matthijs Lievens
As a result of this non-compliant action by the Leuven Chiefs, the board has decided that the match between Mechelen Golden Sharks and Leuven Chiefs will be converted to a 5-0 victory for Mechelen Golden Sharks and the match between Leuven Chiefs and Diez Limburg will be converted to a 0-5 victory for Diez Limburg.
On behalf of the CEHL Board,
