Penalty : GAME MISCONDUNCT – ROUGHING
Verdict : After reading the referee report and watching the live stream footage of rbihf.tv, we are of the opinion that the standard penalty of 1 game suspension - 5 points, is insufficient.
We do impose a conditional suspension of 1 match (expiring after this season) on the goalie concerned for a similar offence, this because hitting an opponent with his block glove, compromises the physical integrity of the opponent (in this case Jordan PAULUS of Liege). However, no injuries were reported to Jordan PAULUS.
Last season a similar offence, would have been punished with a match penalty and automatic standard penalty of 2 games suspension. It is for this reason that we also impose an additional conditional suspension on goalie Martijn OOSTERWIJK. We have also taken into account previous punishment, which is nil for Martijn OOSTERWIJK, showing that this offence is an isolated case.
